While they’re a nice recognition and probably look good hanging on the wall, honorary degrees are not ‘real’ degrees; in other words, being awarded an honorary degree is not the same as earning an actual doctorate. In fact, an honorary degree is a degree honoris causa, Latin for ‘for the sake of the honor’.
It is recommended that such degrees be listed in one’s CV as an award, and not in the education section

অনারারি ডক্টরেট ডিগ্রী কোন শিক্ষাগত যোগ্যতা হিসাবে বিবেচিত হয়না। এই কারনে কারো জীবন বৃত্তান্তে অনারারি ডক্টরেট ডিগ্রী-কে award সেকশনে অন্তভুর্ক্ত করতে বলা হয় এডুকেশন সেকশনে অন্তভুর্ক্ত করতে নিষেধ করা হয়। অনেকেই অনারারি ডক্টরেট ডিগ্রী হিসাবে নামের পূর্বে Dr. ব্যবহার করতে চায়, কিন্তু অনেক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় সেটা করতে নিষেধ করে বরং তার জায়গায় HonD ব্যবহার করতে বলে।
